HILLSDALE — Ethan’s Donut Factory has been listed for sale after two years of growth in Hillsdale.
The shop, owned by Wayne Babcock, opened in May 2024 at 45 N. Broad St. The venture was launched alongside local business owners Matt Taylor, Darin Spieth, Sean Bondra and Richard Moore. The group developed the business into a local destination known for custom donuts, specialty baked goods and ice cream.
Babcock said the decision to sell comes amid growth, allowing a new owner to build on that momentum.
“(We’ve) had an absolutely wonderful two years, and thanks to the incredible growth of our business, we’re ready to pass the torch to new owners,” Babcock told The Daily News.
“It’s a wonderful feeling to see a new place grow and prosper. I hope nothing but the best for whomever the new owners might be. The possibilities are endless for what they could do.”
The business is listed by Century 21 for $189,000. The price doesn’t include the building, through a long-term lease of the current space is available.
Babcock emphasized the transition won’t affect day-to-day operations. The shop will remain open while the business seeks a buyer, with no planned changes to staffing, hours or services.
“There are no plans to close, and we are fully committed to ensuring business continues seamlessly,” Babcock said.
Babcock said customer support has played a key role in the business’ success.
“We are so deeply grateful to each and every one of our customers for helping us reach such an incredible milestone.”
