Semi driver arrested in road-rage shooting in Milan Township

The Michigan State Police are investigating after a man allegedly shot at a family in a road-rage incident in Milan Township on Saturday evening.

At about 7:42 p.m., Monroe County Central Dispatch received a call from a 53-year-old Clinton Township man, according to an MSP press release. The man said he was involved in a road-rage incident that resulted in the suspect shooting at him from his semitractor-trailer on northbound U.S.-23 and Mile Marker 20.

The suspect shot in the direct of the man and five other members of his family who were in a 2012 Hyundai, the press release said.

Troopers arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation. A 33-year-old man from Clinton Township, who was driving a 2019 Peterbilt semitractor-trailer was taken into custody and held in the Monroe County Jail. The incident remains under investigation.

MSP troopers were assisted by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, the Village of Dundee Police Department and Monroe Central Dispatch.
