This game marks the third time that Alabama and Texas Tech have met on a softball field. They are 0-2 against the Tide; both games were played on Feb. 24 and 25 during the 2017 season in Tuscaloosa. The Lady Raiders lost 7-2 in the first game and 8-0 in the second. A win on Monday evening would be the first against Alabama, and they will need to even the all-time series at 2-2 to earn a shot at playing for the natty.
Alabama has won seven straight games since the loss to Texas in the SEC Tournament championship game, 7-1. The Crimson Tide are also 9-1 this season on a neutral field. The Lady Raiders are 17-3 on a neutral field and winners of seven of their last nine games since the NCAA Softball Tournament began. It is a tough task to win two. Alabama hasn’t lost back-to-back games since Apr. 26 and 27 against the Tennessee Lady Vols.
