New York Giants restructure contract of OL Andrew Thomas

The New York Giants have restructured the contract of franchise left tackle Andrew Thomas, creating $6.46 million in additional salary cap space for the 2026 season.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Thomas converted a portion of his base salary into a roster bonus, providing the team with immediate financial flexibility while preserving his long-term commitment.

Thomas, selected with the fourth overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft, signed a five-year, $117.5 million extension in 2023 that runs through 2029. Widely regarded as one of the league’s top left tackles, he has anchored the Giants’ offensive line despite occasional injury setbacks.

The move comes as the Giants continue to sign their draft class and shuffle the back-end of their roster, with several injuries beginning to mount and organized team activities (OTAs) underway.

This is not the first time Thomas has adjusted his deal to help New York’s cap situation, reflecting his dedication to the franchise’s success.
