Isa Torres added her name to Florida State’s defensive legacy Wednesday, becoming just the third Seminoles player to win a Rawlings Gold Glove while capping one of the most dominant seasons in program history.
The junior shortstop joined Jessi Warren (2019) and Sydney Sherrill (2022) as the only players in school history to earn the honor, highlighting a year in which Torres excelled on both sides of the ball. She was also named an NFCA first-team All-American for the second consecutive season, leading a Florida State group that tied a school record with four All-America selections — also tied for the most in the nation.
Ashtyn Danley earned second-team All-America honors, while Jaysoni Beachum and Jazzy Francik were named to the third team. Torres and Beachum are repeat honorees, while Danley and Francik each earned their first All-America recognition. Florida State now has 63 All-America selections from 41 players in program history.
Torres’ Gold Glove reflects a season defined by consistency and highlight-reel play. She committed just two errors all year and went error-free through her first 164 chances at shortstop. She became the first Florida State middle infielder since Lisa Davidson in 1993 to record two or fewer errors in more than 180 chances. For her career, Torres owns a .969 fielding percentage with just 18 errors in 564 chances over three seasons.
At the plate, Torres delivered what may be the greatest offensive season in school history. She set program records with a .530 batting average, 78 runs scored, a .591 on-base percentage and a .978 slugging percentage. Torres also finished tied for second all-time with 98 hits and ranked third in school history with 21 doubles.
Her hot streak reached historic levels during the season. Torres set an NCAA record with 16 consecutive hits in 16 at-bats from March 8–20 and reached base in 23 straight plate appearances, the third-longest streak in NCAA history.
Danley emerged as one of the nation’s top two-way players, anchoring the Seminoles in the circle while producing a breakout offensive campaign. The junior went 13-1 with a 2.09 ERA over 100.1 innings, holding opponents to a .207 batting average with 89 strikeouts. At the plate, she hit .353 with 12 home runs, 57 RBIs, 16 doubles and three triples — all career bests.
Beachum remained one of the nation’s most dangerous hitters, batting .406 with 10 home runs and 69 RBIs. Her RBI total ranked fourth in school history, while her batting average placed 10th. Beachum also drew 54 walks to post a .549 on-base percentage, the third-highest in program history. She enters the postseason having reached base in 50 consecutive games, tying Maddie O’Brien’s school record.
Francik, the ACC Pitcher of the Year, led the Seminoles’ pitching staff with a dominant season. She compiled a 1.86 ERA and an ACC-best 24 wins over 154 innings, limiting opponents to a .183 batting average. Francik recorded three no-hitters and finished with 119 strikeouts while throwing four complete games.
Together, the quartet underscored Florida State’s national prominence, combining historic individual performances with a record-tying showing on the All-American stage — a benchmark that further cements the program’s place among college softball’s elite.
