Chick-fil-A at City Gate made its highly anticipated debut on Thursday, May 21, and brought in lots of hungry locals. To celebrate, the fast-food restaurant gave away free entrees to guests who dressed as cows.
Locals were clearly excited for the new location ― the new Chick-fil-A has been busy since it opened last week. Even though the parking lot is expansive, every spot was taken on opening day and has remained packed for days during peak dining hours.
Located at 3820 City Gate Drive, the new restaurant is the latest to join Naples’ flock of Chick-fil-A locations, including Coastland Center, Naples Center, and Addie’s Corner. The popular fast casual spot will be open Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., offering all Chick-Fil-A classics through dine-in, carry-out, drive-thru and delivery mobile pickup.
Chick-fil-A Inc. selected Florida native Katie Cornutt as the local owner-operator of the new City Gate location. Cornutt began volunteering at a Chick-fil-A location in Texas, then served in locations across the country. Returning to Florida marks a full-circle moment for Cornutt.
“Chick-fil-A City Gate is more than a restaurant, it’s a place where lives are changed and opportunities are created,” Cornutt said in a Chick-fil-A news release. “I’m excited to celebrate this new beginning with my family and the community.
“It means so much to serve a vibrant coastal community like Naples, where people take pride in showing up for one another and building meaningful connections.”
In an effort to give back to the Naples community, the City Gate location celebrated its grand opening by donating $25,000 to the Harry Chapin Food Bank of Southwest Florida. Chick-fil-A City Gate will also participate in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table program, which redirects extra food to local nonprofits, creating over 42 million meals nationwide to date.
