Shortly after being projected the winner, Paxton, who was endorsed by President Donald Trump a week ago, thanked Texas — and set his sights on defeating Texas Democratic U.S. Senate nominee James Talarico, who Paxton called “the most well-funded Democrat in America.”

Meanwhile, Talarico called Paxton “the most corrupt politician in America” in a political ad only a few minutes after Paxton was declared the winner.
