17-year-old charged with murder in fatal Columbus North Side stabbing

An adult died the morning of May 24 after being stabbed by a 17-year-old boy on the North Side of Columbus.

The stabbing took place in the 2600 block of Glen Echo Drive at 6:57 a.m. that morning, when Columbus police were called to the scene and found two victims suffering from multiple stab wounds.

Both victims were taken to an area hopsital in critical condition and one was pronounced dead appoximately an hour later. Police say the other is likely to survive their injuries, as of Sunday afternoon.

The 17-year-old suspect, who the Dispatch is not identifying at this time, was arrested on charges of murder and felonious assault.

Columbus police are still notifying next of kin for the victims, whose names are being withheld until those notifications are made.

Detectives are still investigating the incident.
