Memorial Day forecast in Palm Springs includes warm temps, some gusts

Heading into Memorial Day, the Coachella Valley is expected to see warm temperatures and sunny skies typical for this time of year, with some breezy weather possible over the weekend.

The forecast in Palm Springs includes high temperatures in the mid-to-upper 90s over the weekend, with the warmest and windiest weather expected Monday, May 25, according to Lauren Villafane, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service’s San Diego office. Overnight lows are expected to reach the upper 60s or lower 70s in the region.

“It looks like we could see some breezy winds in the afternoons near Palm Springs, probably 20 miles per hour wind gusts possible for a bit Saturday afternoon, then it gets breezier on Monday afternoon, looking at 25 miles per hour wind gusts possible,” Villafane said.

A low-pressure system will likely bring slightly cooler temperatures to Palm Springs next week, with highs in the upper 80s expected on Tuesday and Wednesday, Villafane said.

Memorial Day forecast for Riverside, Inland Empire

To the west of Palm Springs, the Riverside area will have slightly cooler temperatures over Memorial Day weekend, with highs in the low-to-mid 80s. The region will also see a marine layer creating partly cloudy conditions in the mornings, according to Villafane.
