Memorial Day celebrations will take place across San Joaquin County on Monday, May 25, from Lodi to Stockton.
The Veterans of Foreign Wars Luneta Post 52 will be hosting the VFW Service Day – Memorial Day Ceremony at the Stockton Memorial Civic Auditorium, 525 N. Center St., in Stockton. Doors will open at 12:30 p.m. on Monday with the ceremony starting at 1 p.m.
“A complimentary lunch will be served to all Veterans-All Post and Auxiliary Members and their families following the ceremony,” VFW Luneta Post 52 said in a Facebook post. “Let’s come together to honor all service members who paid the ultimate sacrifice for this nation.”
Another Memorial Day Ceremony will take place in Lodi on the same day, the Veterans Memorial Day Service will begin at 10:30 a.m. in honor of veterans at the Cherokee Memorial Park & Funeral Home, at 14165 Beckman Road in Lodi.
“Each year on Memorial Day we honor those who fought and died for the freedoms we hold so dear as Americans,” the Cherokee Memorial website states. “On this day of recognition we also salute our deceased veterans, those who are still with us, as well as those who are actively serving in the Armed Services today.”
