A Lubbock production company entered a global competition for the first time this year, and brought home a bronze Telly Award for its work on a music video also filmed in Lubbock, according to a Wednesday news release. The company now joins the ranks of Paramount TV, NBC News and other industry giants.
South Town Productions announced on Wednesday that it brought home a bronze Telly in the Branded Content: Craft – Videography/Cinematography category.
The award was given during the 47th Annual Telly Awards, which had more than 13,000 entries from around the world. The Telly Awards Judging Council, which included executives from Google, HBO, WNBA and Netflix, chose the winners.
“Winning a Bronze Telly Award for this project is an incredible honor, especially because this was our first submission and our first attempt at creating something on this scale creatively,” said Adam Garcia, Founder of South Town Productions.
The award-winning production is a music video for 9 Left Dead, an alternative band from Oklahoma. The music video, titled ‘Happy’, was filmed in Lubbock.
“From the very beginning, we wanted ‘Happy’ to feel cinematic, emotional, and authentic to who Nine Left Dead is as artists,” Garcia said. “We’ve always believed storytelling has the power to create emotional connections that go far beyond entertainment — not just for music, but for brands, organizations, and audiences as a whole. To see that vision recognized internationally alongside some of the biggest names in the industry is both humbling and motivating. We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who believed in the project and helped bring it to life.”
People can watch the award-winning production at 9 Left Dead’s YouTube channel.
