What time is Cavs vs Knicks? Game 2 TV schedule in NBA playoffs

After a brutal 22-point collapse in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals, which NBA legend Charles Barkley called “a choke job,” the Cleveland Cavaliers aim to bounce back against the New York Knicks in Game 2 of the series.

The Cavs held all the cards with a huge lead in Madison Square Garden in Game 1, but New York outscored Cleveland 46-21 combined in the fourth quarter and overtime to flip the script and protect home-court advantage. The Cavs scored just three points in the overtime period.

On the bright side for the Cavs, they had the advantage for most of Game 1 despite another poor performance from trade acquisition James Harden. “The Beard” scored 15 points on 5-of-16 shooting (including 1 of 8 from deep), while committing six turnovers against just three assists.

As was the case in the Eastern Conference semifinal series against the Detroit Pistons, the Cavs must now dust themselves off and get the job done.

What was the regular season matchup record between the Cavs and Knicks?

During the 2025-26 regular season, the Cavs finished 1-2 against the Knicks. Included in that trio of games was a season-opening loss against New York in October — well before Cleveland’s trade acquisitions, including Harden.

The Cavs also played New York on Christmas Day, which resulted in a 126-124 comeback win for the Knicks. Donovan Mitchell scored 34 points in the Christmas game, but Jalen Brunson matched him with 34 points of his own.

Cleveland’s only win against the Knicks this season occurred at home on Feb. 24. That was the only regular-season game the Cavs played against NY with Harden in the mix.
