Missing Blendon Township died of drowning, death ruled an accident

A missing Blendon Township woman whose body was found floating in Big Walnut Creek died by drowning, and her death has been ruled as an accident, according to the Franklin County Coroner’s Office.

Angela Fair, 33, was found March 21 by a person who was walking along the bank of Big Walnut Creek, according to Blendon Township police Chief John Belford. Fair’s body was found near the eastern shore of the creek, Belford said, just south of State Route 161 and north of Ingleside Drive, not far from her home.

The person immediately called 911, Belford said. Blendon Township police officers and Westerville-Blendon Township medics arrived on scene and pronounced Fair dead at the scene at 1:43 p.m.

According to a police report, Fair had been missing since Jan. 11. Fair’s sister reported her missing from her home in the 5600 block of Walnut View Boulevard on Jan. 17, the report states.

Fair was the subject of an “ongoing missing person investigation” at the time her body was found, Belford said. Blendon Township police investigators had been following leads in Ohio as well as out of state in an attempt to locate her, Belford said.

The autopsy report notes evidence that she had been in the water for a substantial period of time.

Blendon Township detectives are asking anyone with information related to Fair’s disappearance or death to contact detectives. They are specifically looking for anyone who had contact with Fair since late December 2025.

Anyone with relevant information can contact Blendon Township police Detective Blaire Nance at 614-882-8500 or by email at bnance@blendontwp.org.
