A person was shot in a vehicle on northbound Interstate 71 near Stewart Road, Thursday, May 21, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.
The person was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Officials have not released information about the individual’s condition or what led to the shooting.
The sheriff’s office said two other people in the vehicle with the person who was shot.
Northbound Interstate 71 closed just after 2 p.m. at Stewart Road near Kennedy Heights and Kenwood due to the shooting. As of 3:30 p.m., the highway was still closed.
Officials are advising the public to avoid the area.
