For the first time this offseason, the Cleveland Browns had both veterans and rookies on the field for OTA practice. The team had some voluntary workouts before the draft and after the draft, at rookie minicamp, but this is the first time both groups have been on the field together.
You can’t draw a lot from these practices; they are still installing schemes, and there are no pads or contact, it’s mostly just building familiarity amongst teammates. Both quarterbacks, Shedeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson, received reps with the first team offense as the two battle it out for the starting quarterback job. Both had some good moments and some bad moments, but they weren’t facing any pass rush.
Rookie wide receiver KC Concepcion had a couple of nice grabs during practice and remains one of the more intriguing players to watch as practices ramp up in the coming months. Here’s a look at some of the sights and sounds from Wednesday’s practice.
