A Southwest Florida airport will soon get a new Allegiant Air route, with fares starting at $79, the airline announced Monday, May 18.
The low-cost airline is bringing eight new nonstop routes to Florida in October, expanding its service in the Sunshine State after Spirit Airlines shut down earlier this month.
“We’re excited to announce these new routes and believe it is an important time for Allegiant to increase travel options in these markets,” Allegiant Air Chief Commercial Officer Drew Wells said in a news release.
Among the new routes connecting Florida with East Coast and Midwest cities is a new route to and from Punta Gorda Airport (PDG), located off I-75 near Charlotte Harbor, between Fort Myers and Sarasota.
One-way fares for the new PDG flights start as low as $79 for a limited time.
Travelers can also earn 1,000 Allways Rewards bonus points on the new routes. Tickets are on sale now.
