EAST PEORIA – The last Red Robin location in central Illinois is set to close after a final day on May 24.
Signs were posted to the doors of the 314 W. Washington St. storefront to announce the impending shutdown.
“We have loved serving the East Peoria community and thank you for your business,” the sign said.
Opened in 2013, the Levee District restaurant was the final Red Robin in the central Illinois area. The next closest location is in Davenport, Iowa – which is over an hour and a half away from Peoria.
Red Robin locations in Oswego and Edwardsville, Illinois, are each over two hours away from Peoria.
In a February earnings call, Red Robin CEO and President David Pace said the company expected to close around 20 locations this year.
The Journal Star reached out to Red Robin for comment but has not yet received a response.
