Caitlin Clark sets WNBA first during Indiana Fever's first 3 games

After three strong opening performances, Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark has authored another WNBA first.

Clark’s heroic 32-point scoring night on May 15 almost single-handedly brought what appeared to be a lifeless Fever offense to an incredible comeback victory. Unfortunately, the team’s inability to string together defensive stops down the stretch and throughout overtime ultimately negated the efforts of the former Hawkeye star.

However, the offensive outburst from Clark allowed her to become the first player in WNBA history to record at least 75 points and 20 assists in the first three games of a season, according to Real App.

Clark also tied her career-high in 3-pointers made during Friday’s game against the Mystics, knocking down seven from beyond the arc. Clark’s five made 3-pointers in the fourth quarter set a new Fever team record for the most 3-pointers by a single player in a quarter.

With the Fever taking on the Seattle Storm (1-2) from Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Sunday evening, Clark will look to continue her hot offensive start to the season and propel Indiana back into the win column.
