A Town of Wallkill woman was accused of stabbing her daughter on May 14.
Town of Wallkill police said they received a phone call from the City of Port Jervis Police Department at approximately 8:18 p.m. May 14 informing them a 42-year-old Wallkill woman was being treated for a stab wound to the right side of her chest at Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis.
A subsequent investigation by Town of Wallkill police patrol officers and detectives determined that the victim was assaulted at an address on East Main Street in the town.
That investigation led to the arrest of the victim’s mother, Gaia E. Frising, 65, of the Town of Wallkill.
Frising was charged with second-degree assault, a felony, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor.
She was arraigned before Middletown City Court Judge Steven W. Brockett and sent to the Orange County jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail, $10,000 secured bond or $10,000 partially secured bond.
Frising is scheduled to appear in the Town of Wallkill Justice Court on May 20.
The name of her attorney was not immediately available.
