Quick breakdown
After four seasons at Missouri State, Chambers made the jump to the SEC in 2026. There, Chambers filled a rotational role, playing 380 snaps over the course of the season. He held opponents to a modest 8.8 yards per catch in coverage, forcing two pass breakups. Quarterbacks had a below-average passer rating of 86.6 when targeting him.
Chambers graded out well against the run by PFF’s metrics, and he generated nine pressures as a blitzer. Not to be overlooked either, but Chambers is a very experienced special teams player, with 614 career snaps at the college level.

They said it
When Colts’ assistant GM Ed Dodds was discussing West Weeks — another UDFA linebacker — during rookie minicamp, he mentioned that he was excited to see the Cotls’ linebacker room, which included Chambers.
“Kinda excited about that linebacker room — with Weeks and Tahj Chambers both,” Dodds said, via SI.
Whey Tahj Chambers could make a roster push with the Colts?
The Colts reshaped the linebacker room this offseason, signing Akeem Davis-Gaither and then drafting CJ Allen and Bryce Boettcher. That said, there are still unknowns around what the depth and back end of this position group will look like. That uncertainty could create an opportunity for Chambers to make a roster push. While he will have to show that he can hold his own defensively this summer, Chambers’ speed and special teams experience could be what helps him separate from others as he competes for that final roster spot or two on the Colts’ 53-man.
