This week, USC got some great news in the recruiting trail when five-star athlete Honor Fa’alave-Johnson confirmed that he is shutting down his recruitment and is locked in with the Trojans. However, Fa’alave-Johnson was not the only USC commit to do so this week.
On Thursday, it was reported that four-star cornerback Danny Lang is also fully locked in with the Trojans. In a recent interview with Kendall Hollowell of Sports Illustrated, Lang discussed the decision.
“I didn’t have a relationship with no other school like I had with SC,” Lang said. “I had a relationship with the whole defensive staff, like with every coach.
“I say how [cornerbacks coach Trovon Reed] is as a person. He takes relationships serious with his recruits and his players,” Lang said. “He also treats me like family, calling me every day, checking on me every day, seeing how my family is, seeing how my dad is. I really think that was the biggest part, just building that relationship with him.
“I’m hyped. Can’t wait to see how I look in [Cardinal and Gold].”
The fact that two of USC’s top commits in the class of 2027 are fully locked in is great news for the Trojans. Lincoln Riley and Chad Bowden are doing a great job not just landing top talent, but retaining it.
