Micah Parsons might not know exactly when he’ll return, but the Green Bay Packers edge rusher is giving fans a promise.
“When the return hit it’s gonna be special,” Parsons wrote on his Instagram Story while sharing the newly released Packers schedule on May 14.
Parsons will likely miss the start of 2026 as he continues his rehab from a torn ACL he sustained last season. But the release of the schedule now provides the dates and first opponents for Parsons’ highly anticipated return whenever that might be.
The date of the 2026 schedule release also marked exactly five months since Parsons fell to the ground with the injury during a Week 15 game against the Denver Broncos on Dec. 14. He had surgery a couple weeks later and has attacked his recovery with a goal of returning early in the 2026 season.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter said earlier on May 14 that Parsons could be “a candidate” to start the season on the physically unable to perform list. That designation, if put on the reserve/PUP List, would keep him out at least the first four games.
If that happens, there are some intriguing games to follow for a potential Parsons return. And ones Parsons no doubt noticed as the schedule was revealed.
The Packers play the Bears in Week 5 at Lambeau Field, the first game he would be eligible to return if he starts the season on the PUP List.
Last season, Parsons played in the Packers’ first game against the Bears, a thrilling home win for Green Bay, on Dec. 7. Parsons, however, suffered the season-ending injury the next week. The Packers didn’t win another game, including two soul-crushing losses to the Bears at Soldier Field, one of which came in the playoffs.
But Packers tickets
Parsons’ brother, Terrence Parsons Jr. implied on X hours after the schedule was released that the All-Pro has an eye on Caleb Williams and the Bears.
“Iceman was everything we was asking for,” Terrence Parsons Jr. wrote, referencing Williams’ nickname.
Williams led two huge second-half comebacks in the wins over the Packers last season, including the one that eliminated Green Bay from the postseason.
The Packers also play host to Parsons’ former team, the Dallas Cowboys a week later in 2026.
Parsons was acquired by the Packers in a monumental trade with the Cowboys before the start of last season in late August.
