New Browns' star KC Concepcion has All-Cleveland Monday night

Clevleand Browns’ first-round wide receiver KC Concepcion has an All-Cleveland night on Monday. The two neighboring teams invited the newest member of the Dawg Pound to get their (very) important games started.

Concepcion’s night started at Progressive Field, where he threw out the first pitch before the Guardians versus Angels game that started around 6:00 PM EST. The Guardians’ offense showed its first sign of life in the month of April as they got a nice win.

Concepcion went from the diamond to the hardwood as he crossed the sidewalk over to Rocket Arena for Game Four of the all-important Eastern Conference Semifinals between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Detroit Pistons. The Cavs came into Game Four trailing 2-1 in the series. Concepcion pulled out the sword to get the crowd excited pregame, and then the rest was history.

Cavs’ guard Donovan Mitchell scored 43 points, 39 of which came in the second half, as the Cavs pulled away for a nice win to go back to Detroit.

Concepcion was the common denominator between the two impressive performances from the two neighbors on the south side of the city. It was awesome to see the young man take to his new city and represent the Cleveland Browns. There is nothing that describes the city of Cleveland better than Game Four being on the horizon, and the main topic of conversation is whether Taylen Green could be a potential starter in the future.

It is common to see first-round picks or high-profile players doing both of these activities, but rarely does it line up to happen at the perfect time. Concepcion and all of his teammates were just in town for their rookie minicamp and the first time on the field in the NFL.

Then he got the opportunity to get in front of his new fanbase for the first time. A lot of those same people he pumped up tonight will be catching him when he is jumping into the Dawg Pound after scoring a touchdown (or two) on Sundays in the fall.

Like it or not, for better or for worse, Cleveland is a football town. This city is yearning for a winner, and with this year’s rookie class combined with last year’s rookie class, they are closer than they are far away from becoming that exactly. Hopefully, a little bit of the winning ways rubbed off on Cleveland’s new receiver as he made his rounds on Monday.
