Now that Steve Kerr has re-signed with Golden State, the Warriors can shift their focus to improving a roster that saw them finish 10th in the Western Conference last season.
With the uncertainty around Kerr’s future addressed, the team can now shift to Draymond Green, who has a $23.7 million player option.
According to ESPN, Warriors team sources have revealed they have “no intention to shop Green or push him out.”
Considering this, it’s likely that Golden State works with Green this summer on a possible contract extension, meaning he would opt out to sign a long-term, team-friendly deal.
This would be preferable for the franchise, keeping Green and putting more cap space at their disposal right away.
