Former Badgers win MLV Championship in Dallas Pulse's inaugural season

In a thrilling five-set final, a pair of former Wisconsin Badgers stars took home the Major League Volleyball Championship.

Not only did Badgers alumni Mimi Colyer and Carter Booth bring home some hardware, but they did so in the Dallas Pulse’s inaugural season.

MLV is still a relatively new league, one that expanded prior to this season with the addition of the Pulse. The Pulse, who play in Frisco, TX, at the Comerica Center, were the league’s eighth team.

Recently, Colyer was named 2026 MLV Outside Hitter of the Year. On top of that prestigious honor, she was also a unanimous All-League First Team honoree.

The former Badger great led the league in points, points per set, kills, and kills per set. She was joined by Booth, a former two-time AVCA All-American middle blocker who originally began her collegiate career at Minnesota.

Dallas defeated the Omaha Supernovas in the championship: 20-25, 25-23, 15-25, 25-13, and 15-9. Despite trialing 2-1 heading into the fourth set, the Pulse showed up when it mattered the most and outscored the Supernovas 40-22. This marked the first time in league history that a fifth set was needed to crown a champion.

Booth attempted just one serve in the match while Colyer finished with 11 points, 10 kills, and six digs.
