Section V continues to flex is muscle in Class B. In the latest New York state boys lacrosse rankings, eight of the 25 spots in that classification are owned by Rochester-area teams.
Biggest rise: Hilton continues to garner respect statewide. The Cadets are up five spots to No. 4 in Class B. An impressive win over defending Class A section champion Penfield on Tuesday shows the jump was warranted. Further boosting Class B, Brighton and Spencerport both joined the list after both were previously listed among the honorable mentions.
Biggest fall: It wasn’t all great in Class B, as reigning section champion Canandaigua fell three spots to 23rd. It’s been an uneven season for the Gray Wolves, who sit one game under .500 with three regular season games remaining.
