Driver killed in Cincinnati construction zone crash

One person is dead after a single-vehicle crash in South Fairmount, officials say.

The Cincinnati Police Department was dispatched to the crash around 8:24 p.m. Monday at 1667 Harrison Ave..

Police say the crash occurred in a construction zone that had a digital traffic sign and cones for a temporary lane.

The driver of the car crossed the boundary of the signs and cones, driving into the construction site into an open hole.

The car hit the raised concrete on the other side of the hole.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have not yet released the identity of the driver and continue to investigate the crash.
