Former Dolphins WR attempting NFL comeback with NFC North team

With the 2026 NFL draft in the rearview, teams are in the middle of their offseason programs, and during this time, some clubs are having players join at their facilities for a tryout.

Among those players trying out across the league is former Miami Dolphins wide receiver Chase Claypool, who is attempting an NFL comeback with the Green Bay Packers.

Claypool, 27, played at Notre Dame for four years before the Pittsburgh Steelers took him in the second round of the 2020 NFL draft. In 2022, the Steelers traded the wideout to the Chicago Bears, who then sent him to the Dolphins in 2023.

In his lone season in South Florida, he appeared in nine games and caught just four passes for 26 yards. His rookie contract expired at the end of the year, and while he tried to catch on with the Buffalo Bills in 2024, he suffered an injury that ended his tenure.

Now, after two full years out of football, Claypool, who caught 153 passes for 2,044 yards and 12 touchdowns in 39 games with the Steelers to start his career.
