A Webster, New York, man has won $5 million playing a New York Lottery scratch-off game, officials announced this week.

Richard Thomas claimed the top prize on the New York Lottery’s $5,000,000 Cash Royale instant game.

He chose to receive a one-time lump sum payment of $2,239,446 after required withholdings, according to lottery officials.

Where the ticket was sold

The winning ticket was purchased at the Wegmans Eastway store, located at 1955 Empire Blvd.

While the store sits in the town of Penfield, it carries a Webster mailing address.

About the game

The $5,000,000 Cash Royale scratch-off costs $20 per ticket.

As of midweek, one top prize remains.
