The Wall baseball team will be looking for a new coach — but have a chance to make another memorable run before that’s official.
Jeremy Gordon, who has been at the helm of the program the past three years, is stepping down from his role following the season to accept a job at Austin Westlake.
“I’m sad and happy at the same time. I’m focused on getting back to Dell Diamond first, but looking forward to being part of the Westlake family!’ Gordon wrote in a post published to X, formerly Twitter. “I’m grateful for the opportunity @baseball_wallhs gave me. Thanks for taking a chance on a young coach with no experience!”
Over the last three years, Gordon has amassed 81 wins with the Hawks. He also led Wall to a state championship, guiding the squad to a 14-2 win over Thrall last season in the Class 3A Division II title contest at Dell Diamond in Round Rock. Wall (31-6) concluded its championship campaign winners of 24 of its last 26 games.
It marked the first title since 2019, when then-head coach Jason Schniers was leading the group. He retired following the 2023 season.
