The Del Valle High School softball team was eliminated in the Texas UIL playoffs.
Del Valle lost both games Wednesday, April 29, falling 5-2 in eight innings and 5-0 to Abilene Wylie in Monahans. The 5-2 loss came in the Class 5A Division II matchup.
The Conquistadores finished the season with a 27-11 record and were co-champions in District 2-5A along with Parkland. Abilene Wylie improves to 22-14 and advances to the regional semifinals, which are scheduled for May 7-9.
Del Valle was seeking its second straight area championship.
Nine more El Paso teams play Thursday, April 30, Friday, May 1 and Saturday May 2.
