Where Wisconsin's class of 2027 ranks after DJ Davis' commitment

The Wisconsin Badgers’ past two seasons haven’t been ideal, but Luke Fickell is working overtime to turn things around.

After landing quarterback Jack Sorgi and safety DJ Davis, Wisconsin continues to climb the ranks in terms of its Class of 2027.

Currently, 247Sports has the Badgers as the No. 12 overall class.

As for On3/Rivals, Wisconsin sits at No. 19. For reference, they were ranked No. 65 last season. Interestingly enough, nine teams are ranked ahead of Wisconsin even though they have fewer than the Badgers 10 commitments.

Ultimately, a 46 ranking increase is far from usual in the modern era of college football, but the Badgers’ giving Fickell even more time may have been the best thing for them.

Davis’s commitment gave Wisconsin its third defensive player in the class of 2027. There’s still a ton of work to be done, but UW couldn’t have asked for a better start in this recruiting cycle.
