The Los Angeles Rams are looking towards the future, and with new quarterback Ty Simpson in hand, the team now has a natural succession plan for when Matthew Stafford wishes to hang up his cleats. With Simpson already expressing excitement in being part of what the Rams are putting together, the next step for Simpson is to make Los Angeles his home.
He’s getting some help with that, as Simpson stated that Kelly Stafford, the wife of starting quarterback Matthew Stafford, already reached out to assist with his transition.
“Kelly has actually texted me on Instagram and welcomed me and told me to hit her up if we need anything but I can’t wait to talk to Matthew,” Simpson said at his press conference Friday. “I’m super ecstatic because I just want to pick his brain.”
Simpson also said team captain Quentin Lake has already reached out.
Simpson will be able to quickly assimilate into the team as he’s set to compete for the backup quarterback role with Stetson Bennett. The Rams are already in the midst of their offseason workout program.
