Florida baseball will look to get back on track this week as the Gators host Texas A&M in a top 25 matchup.
The Gators enter the matchup having dropped three straight, which included a midweek loss to Jacksonville. No. 7 Texas A&M (31-7, 12-5 SEC) rides a six-game win streak, which includes a recent sweep of LSU.
The Aggies have popped 80 homers and 83 doubles while slashing .312/.444/.581 as a unit. The Texas A&M pitching staff has logged a 4.50 ERA, .256 batting average against and 327:100 strikeout-to-walk ratio over 318 innings.
Although No. 22 Florida (28-14, 10-8 SEC) has played to a 17-11 record against unranked teams this season, it boasts an 11-3 mark against ranked foes featuring the most top-25 wins in the nation.
Missed opportunity for Gators
In the fourth inning, Florida had runners at the corners with one out. However, Brendan Lawson flies out to the infield, and after a pitching change Ethan Surowiec flies out to end the inning.
Florida pulls ahead
In the bottom of the third, Blake Cyr tied the game with an RBI double. Later in the inning, Cade Kurland comes up with a 2-out RBI double to give up a 3-2 a lead.
King gives up homer
In the top of the third inning Aidan King surrenders a two-run homer that flies over the left field wall. Texas A&M takes a 2-1 lead over Florida.
