Florida football could wind up with a high number of players selected in the 2026 NFL Draft, which starts on April 23 at 8 p.m. in Pittsburgh, Pa. (ESPN, NFL Network).
None are projected to go in the draft’s first round on April 23, but as many as eight Florida Gators could get selected from rounds 2-7 on April 24 and April 25.
Among the UF draft hopefuls include defensive tackle Caleb Banks (a projected second-round pick), center Jake Slaughter (a projected third- or fourth-round pick), left tackle Austin Barber (a projected third- of fourth-round pick), cornerback Devin Moore (a projected third- or fourth-round pick), defensive end George Gumbs Jr. (a projected fourth- or fifth-round pick), defensive end Tyreak Sapp (a projected fourth- or fifth-round pick), kicker Trey Smack (a projected sixth-round pick) and wide receiver J. Michael Sturdivant (a projected seventh-round pick).
At least one Florida player has been picked in every NFL Draft since 1953. Last year, seven UF players were selected, will all going between rounds four and seven.
The last Florida player to be selected in the first round of the NFL draft was in 2024, when wide receiver Ricky Pearsall went 30th overall to the San Francisco 49ers.
