This $29 million initiative is Phase 1 of a long-term Master Facilities Plan, created in fall 2024 through community feedback from students, families, staff, and residents.

The project includes:

The project is currently in the Design Development stage, with construction scheduled in phases through the 2027-2028 school year. The performing arts center is expected to be completed in the fall of 2027. The district is partnering with Schorr Architects and Summit Construction on the project.

The project was made possible through financial planning, without asking taxpayers to approve a bond issue.

The bleacher additions are expected to be completed by the end of July. The project for the ballfields will commence on June 1 and is expected to be completed by November 30. The start for the Athletic Fieldhouse starts May 1, with projected completion date by the end of the next school year. Construction on the Performing Arts Center starts in May and is expected to be completed September 10, 2027. The Fuel Station Relocation project has begun and will be in operation this July.

Earth Day in CW

Celebrate Earth Day a little late with the City of Canal Winchester! A free conservation workshop is scheduled from 1:30 to 3 p.m. April 25, at the Canal Winchester Community Center, 45 E. Waterloo Street. The workshop is offered in partnership with Franklin Soil and Water Conservation District as part of their Community Backyards program.

The Community Backyards program is an educational rebate program for Franklin County residents. In the course, residents learn about rainwater, water pollution, stormwater runoff and its detrimental impacts on local water quality, erosion, and flooding. Residents will also learn what they can do to help protect waterways, beginning right in their own backyard.

Those who attend the free workshop will also learn about backyard conservation practices, including rain barrels, rain gardens, native plants, and composting, and may be eligible to receive a $50 rebate voucher (*dependent on homeowners’ location & while supplies last) on the purchase of an approved conservation product.

Registration is free but required. For more information or to register, visit communitybackyards.org or contact Hannah Woodruff, City of Canal Winchester Community Affairs, at 614-834-9915.

The community is invited to an evening of gospel music featuring Don and Sylvia Lemley. The concert will take place at Wildermuth Memorial Church at 6 p.m. April 25. The concert will be held at Wildermuth Memorial Church, located at 3405 Carroll Eastern Road in Carroll, Ohio.
