C-G's Nick Randall named to 2026 All-Greater Rochester Boys Alpine Team

The All-Greater Rochester Boys Alpine Team was selected by coaches with input from Democrat and Chronicle and Daily Messenger Post sportswriters.

Hudson Proia, Skier of the Year

School: McQuaid

Year: Senior

Parents: Amanda and Joe Proia

Key accomplishments: Winning all four runs and the overall Section V title.

Future plans: I am looking to study finance but I am still deciding on my school of choice.

Why Hudson Proia is the Skier of the Year: Proia completed his varsity career with another strong season this winter. At the Section V championships, he placed first in both the giant slalom (2:00.48) and slalom (1:34.23) to earn the Bill Matthews Award for the overall alpine champion. He was also named the Wayne-Finger Lakes league champion.

Proia made his fifth consecutive appearance at the state championships, and placed third overall in the giant slalom.

Nick Randall, Canisteo-Greenwood

School: Canisteo-Greenwood

Year: Sophomore

Parents: Kim and Matt Randall

Key accomplishment: Winning all of the Southern Tier race league races for the 2025-26 season.

Future plans: Continue training with Snowmellow alpine and racing Alpine FIS races, taking it to the highest level I can achieve.

Ollie Blumkin

School: Brighton

Year: Sophomore

Parents: Katherine Eisenberg and Aaron Blumkin

Key accomplishment: Second in sectionals.

Future plans: Attend a four-year college.

Weston Haarr

School: Victor

Year: Sophomore

Parents: Michele and Brad Haarr

Key accomplishment: First place in slalom.

Future plans: Unknown.

Reed Heagney

School: Canandaigua

Year: Senior

Parents: Jamie and Max Heagney

Key accomplishments: Third place in slalom at section championships and seventh place in slalom at states.

Future plans: I plan on attending Alfred State College to study diesel tech and business while playing football.

Brody Ireland

School: Victor

Year: Senior

Parents: Jae and Steve Ireland

Key accomplishment: Making the states team.

Future plans: Go to college.

Keegan Jacob

School: Pittsford Mendon

Year: Freshman

Parents: Leah and Tom Jacob

Key accomplishment: Second place overall for league, missed No. 1 by one place point.

Future plans: Play lacrosse in college.

Alessandro Martini

School: Fairport

Year: Senior

Parents: Emily and Andrea Martini

Key accomplishment: Placed sixth in the slalom at the Section V championships.

Future plans: Not sure yet.

Logan Serve

School: Brighton

Year: Senior

Parents: Leslie and Michael Serve

Key accomplishment: Going to the state championships.

Future plans: Play Division III lacrosse at Kenyon College.

Canyon Shull

School: Victor

Year: Junior

Parents: Summer and Brian Shull

Key accomplishments: Section V individual qualifier for NYSPHSAA championships, first place finish at Brantling slalom, member of the Monroe County team.

Future plans: I will continue to ski race, play varsity soccer, and attend college majoring in business and pre-med.

Max Spitz

School: Irondequoit

Year: Senior

Parents: Alicia and Tyler Spitz

Key accomplishment: Monroe County league champion.

Future plans: Attending Alfred State to play baseball with an undecided major.

Coach of the Year

Jen Haggerty

School: Victor

Profession: Coach

Varsity coaching experience: Head coach Victor alpine (2009-present); head coach Victor girls lacrosse (2024-present)

Family: Spouse John Haggerty; children Sarah Lawless, Madeline Fichera, Lucy Haggerty and Johnny Haggerty.
