Guthrie Athlete of the Week nominees are from the coverage areas of the Binghamton Press & Sun-Bulletin, Elmira Star-Gazette, Ithaca Journal and Corning Leader. Nominees are based primarily on results submitted to bgmsports@gannett.com.

Voting is open until noon Thursday, April 23.
This week’s candidates:
Dom Abbadessa, Union-Endicott baseball: Abbadessa struck out 13 in pitching a 2-hitter in a victory over Binghamton as part of a 3-1 week for the Tigers.
Kasey Coleman, Susquehanna Valley baseball: Coleman went 6-for-6 with a triple, 2 doubles, 5 runs, 2 RBIs in a win over Sidney.
Lauren DeRosa, Corning softball: DeRosa went 3-for-3, with a homer, 4 runs, 4 RBIs in a win over Horseheads. She then went 4-for-5 with a triple, 2 runs, and an RBI in a victory over Elmira.
Paige Ells, Watkins Glen/Odessa-Montour softball: Ells was dominant during a 4-0 week for the Schuyler Storm. She struck out 14 in a 2-hitter against Elmira Notre Dame, struck out 17 in a 3-hitter against Spencer-Van Etten/Candor, and struck out 12 in a 1-hitter in a 1-0, eight-inning win over Thomas A. Edison. Ellis went 3-for-3 with a homer and 7 RBIs against Notre Dame, and 3-for-4 with 2 RBIs vs. Dryden.
Quentin Getzin, Ithaca boys lacrosse: Getzin scored 4 goals and excelled on faceoffs as the Little Red edged Corning, 14-13.
Kohl Hogue, Corning boys lacrosse: Hogue scored 4 goals in the Hawks’ 14-13 loss to Ithaca, then had 6 goals and 2 assists in a victory over Nichols.
Paxton Hoover, Thomas A. Edison baseball: During the Spartans’ 3-0 week, Hoover went 2-for-4 with a triple and 2 RBIs against Spencer-Van Etten/Candor, pitched a 5-hitter and scored 3 runs against Notre Dame, and went 3-for-4 with a homer, 2 doubles, 2 runs, and 4 RBIs against Watkins Glen/Odessa-Montour.
Lauren Kozemko, Horseheads girls lacrosse: Kozemko had back-to-back games of 3 goals and 1 assist as the Blue Raiders topped Corning and Union-Endicott.
Makenzie Lombardini, Chenango Valley/Johnson City girls lacrosse: Lombardini had 5 goals and 7 assists in a victory over Whitney Point, followed by 7 goals and an assist in a victory against Elmira.
Brady Palmer, Maine-Endwell baseball: In three wins over Johnson City, Palmer went 2-for-4, 2-for-3 with a homer and 3 RBIs, and 1-for-3 with 2 runs and 2 RBIs.
Joslyn Space, Owego Free Academy softball: Space capped her week by pitching a complete game and going 1-for-3 with a triple and 2 runs in a 6-2 win over defending Section 4 Class B champion Susquehanna Valley. Space tossed a 5-hitter, struck out 10, and didn’t allow an earned run in a 9-3 win over Windsor. In Owego’s other game, she pitched a scoreless inning of relief in a loss to Oneonta.
