The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and the Wisconsin Conservation Congress invite the public to attend the annual Fish and Wildlife Spring Hearing on Monday, April 13, at 6 p.m. Hearings will be held in counties statewide.
In Manitowoc County, the Spring Hearing will be held at UWGB-Manitowoc Campus on Monday, April 13 (new location this year). Doors open at 6 p.m., the presentation begins at 6:30 p.m. and voting starts at 7 p.m.
An online option will also be available from 6 p.m. April 13 through 6 p.m. April 15.
At the in-person hearings, DNR staff and WCC delegates will discuss local issues, answer questions, and take public input on fish, wildlife and other natural resource topics.
The WCC will also hold delegate elections at each meeting. Two of the five WCC seats will be up for election in each county.
Public feedback can be submitted via a QR code available at hearing locations on April 13, online during the April 13-15 window or on paper forms available at each meeting.
The Wisconsin Conservation Congress is the only statutory body in the state where the public elects delegates to advise the Natural Resources Board and the DNR on responsible management of natural resources for current and future generations. Kettle Range Snow Riders Spring Fish Fry is April 17
The Kettle Range Snow Riders will host a spring fish fry from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 17, at the Mishicot Vets Club, 314 W. Main St., Mishicot.
The menu includes perch, walleye, cod and chicken tenders. Homemade desserts will also be available.

Packerland Chapter Delta Waterfowl Banquet set May 14 in Green Bay
The Packerland Chapter of Delta Waterfowl will hold its annual banquet on Thursday, May 14, at Stadium View Banquet Hall, 1963 Holmgren Way in Green Bay.
Doors open at 4:30 p.m., and dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m.

Glacial Lakes Conservancy Native Plant Sale orders due by May 1
Glacial Lakes Conservancy announces its second annual Spring Native Plant Sale, in partnership with LaValley Home & Garden.
Choose from established perennials, trees and shrubs (sizes listed in the catalog), four-pack plugs, compost, tree stake kits, planters (make-and-take or pre-made), and sponsorship options.
Order deadline is May 1.
Pickup is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 22 or 23 at LaValley Home & Garden. Sponsored items will be picked up by a Glacial Lakes representative.
LaValley is also donating 15% of in-stock native perennials, grasses, trees and shrubs sold in person on May 22 and 23 to GLC.
Rob Zimmer of Rob Zimmer Outdoors will be on site from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 23 to talk about native plants.
Beginning May 22, the garden center will be stocked with native perennials, grasses, trees, shrubs, seeds and seed mixes, heirloom vegetables, and herbs selected to support environmental well-being.

Manitowoc Rifle & Pistol Club winter trap shooting is Sundays through April
Manitowoc Rifle & Pistol Club is hosting winter trap shooting at 1 p.m. every Sunday through April. Trap shooting is open to the public, and membership is not required.
Cost is $6 per round for non-members. 12-gauge shotshells are available for purchase at the clubhouse.
The club is north of Two Rivers on Viceroy Road, between State 42 and County Road O.
Woodland Dunes Adult Learning Series: ‘Timberdoodle Observation’ set for April 16
Woodland Dunes Nature Center and Preserve presents its Adult Learning Series: “Timberdoodle Observation” at 7:15 p.m. Thursday, April 16.
Look for the sky-dancing American woodcock and learn about its courtship display. Afterward, view stars and constellations through the telescope (sky conditions permitting).
The program has a sliding-scale fee of $3 to $10 per person. Space is limited, and the program is weather dependent.
