Northeast Inland District Division VI Co-Player of the Year Colbie Curall (Rootstown senior)

Graduation hit the Rovers hard after their run to the state championship game in 2025. Curall ensured the standard remained high, leading Rootstown to a 20-4 record with her 14.5 points per game. Of course, the John Carroll commit was far more than a scorer, also playing a big role in the paint for the undersized Rovers, leading them in rebounds (6.0) and blocks (1.4). Curall also led Rootstown in steals (5.0) and was among the team’s leaders in assists (2.8).

WTBCA Divisions IV/V/VI/VII Underclassman of the Year Ma’Ryah McIntosh (Streetsboro freshman)

An injury cut short her season, but Ma’Ryah McIntosh showed more than enough through 16 games. She led the Rockets in steals (3.5) and blocks (1.8) and was also in the team’s top three in points (8.4), rebounds (4.9) and assists (2.4). She played a big role in Streetsboro posting a 17-8 record despite graduating a monumental Class of 2025.

Chagrin Valley Conference Coach of the Year Joe Leonard (Rootstown)

Leonard took over a program on the rise when he arrived in Rootstown and he has only continued that momentum since assuming the helm. Graduation meant a lot of question marks and adjustments entering the season. Once a more post-oriented group, the Rovers were quite a bit smaller this year, forcing them to lean into their ability to apply intense pressure on defense. The results were tremendous, including Rootstown’s third 20-win season and fourth league title in Leonard’s four years at the helm.
