The Jerk Joint, 1619 W. College Ave. in Appleton, has shut its doors permanently.
The Trinidadian cuisine restaurant closed March 23, owner Roderick Goodwin told the Appleton Post-Crescent. He said they made the decision to close due to ongoing health issues in his family.
The restaurant was known for its jerk chicken, pork tacos, curry, doobies, mango chicken, rum cake and oxtails. It was open at its Appleton location for over five years and was formerly located in Kaukauna.
