Time to pick your girls basketball player of the year for Rockford area

The girls basketball season recently drew to a close with a pair of Rockford-area teams (Rockford Christian and Byron) making it to the season-ending IHSA state tournament.

Both squads placed fourth in state. And both teams were jam packed with solid players.

Now is your chance to choose from some of those players, and many more, as you vote on our poll to determine who is the Girls Basketball Player of the Year. (We will eventually name our All Area Team as well as our MVP of the season, but this is your chance to choose.)

At the midseason point, you chose Oregon’s Aniyah Sarver as your Midseason Player of the Year. Before the season really got going, you chose Pecatonica’s Ryleigh Alexander as your Preseason Player of the Year.

Now it’s time to pick the best of the best; the cream of the crop for the 2025-2026 girls basketball season.
