List of Chicago Bears' 2026 free agents

The Chicago Bears have been busy ahead of free agency, where general manager Ryan Poles has made some changes to the roster.

The Bears traded wide receiver DJ Moore (and a 2026 fifth-round pick) to the Buffalo Bills in exchange for a 2026 second-round pick. Meanwhile, they released linebacker Tremaine Edmunds to free up $15 million in salary cap space. Following center Drew Dalman’s surprising retirement, the Bears traded for Garrett Bradbury, sending a 2027 fifth-round pick to the New England Patriots.

Free agency and the start of the new league year officially starts Wednesday at 3 p.m. CT. But before then, the negotiation window opens on Monday at 11 a.m. CT, which is when we’ll start hearing about pending transactions.

The Bears will have around $26.56 million in salary cap space, according to Over the Cap. Chicago has a number of in-house free agents they could re-sign, including safeties Kevin Byard and Jaquan Brisker, cornerback Nahshon Wright, nickel C.J. Gardner-Johnson and linebacker D’Marco Jackson.

Here’s a look at the Bears players set to hit the free agent market this week:

When is 2026 free agency?

The 2026 free agency negotiation window begins March 9, where teams can negotiate with available players. The free agency period officially opens two days later on March 11.

How much salary cap space do the Bears have?

The Bears are currently sitting with $25.56 million in salary cap space, according to Over the Cap, which is the 14th most in the NFL. Chicago can still make some more moves with contract restructures, but general manager Ryan Poles has a good amount of space to make some moves.
