Costco is debuting a handful of new locations in 2026, including three in Texas.
The members-only wholesale store is opening seven stores in California, Utah and Texas in the early part of the year, according to its website. That’s in addition to the hundreds of locations across the globe — Costco operates 924 warehouses, including 634 in the United States and Puerto Rico, as well as locations in foreign countries, such as Mexico and Japan.

Costco opening 3 new stores in Texas
Costco will open a store in Liberty Hill, Texas, in March. The new store, located about 31 miles northwest of Downtown Austin, will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the mayor and the Liberty Hill Chamber of Commerce at 7:30 a.m. local time on March 11, and the store will open at 8 a.m. that day, according to USA TODAY, which cited Katie Amsler, the city’s director of community engagement and communications.
The 152,000-square-foot warehouse will make it easier for locals to shop at Costco, the warehouse club said in a news release. Previously, residents had to drive nine miles south to Cedar Park, 20 miles southeast to Georgetown or 20 miles south to Austin to shop at the wholesale retailer, reported USA TODAY.
Another location will open in New Braunfels, Texas, in April. The 158,000-square-foot store featuring an on-site fuel station will open in the 1,900-acre Mayfair master-planned community, reported the San Antonio Express News.
Costco is also expanding to Forney, Texas, part of the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex, in March. The 161,251-square-foot facility will open March 11, according to its website.

How much is a Costco membership?
A “Gold Star Membership” or personal membership costs $65 a year, plus tax. Members can shop online and in store and the membership includes two cards for one additional household member.
An “Executive Membership” costs $130 a year, plus tax. You can earn up to $1,250 on eligible Costco and Costco Travel purchases, get extended hours for shopping and exclusive benefits and discounts on select Costco Services. The membership also includes two cards for one additional household member.
