Onsted, Adrian, Madison boys basketball all win in Friday night action

ONSTED — The Onsted Wildcats wrapped up their 2025-26 regular season in style, sending their four seniors out with a bang after dominating Ann Arbor Academy for the 61-33 victory on senior night on Friday, Feb. 20.

As was fitting for the occasion, Onsted was led by its seniors in the victory. Leading the way was Mason Chesser with a team high 16 points; Bryson Sutherland delivered a huge all-around performance, adding 14 points and 10 rebounds to go with seven blocks.

Rylan Henagan had a double-double as well for Onsted, recording 11 points and 10 assists while Cole Wells added nine points and 12 rebounds.

With the win Onsted finishes off its regular season at 20-2, giving the Wildcats their fourth 20-win season in five years and their third consecutive.

Onsted will return to action in distrct play next Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at Manchester where it will face the winner of the Sand Creek versus Clinton in the semifinals.

Adrian 79, Blissfield 70

The Adrian Maples pulled off a big win on Friday, defeating Blissfield 79-70.

Adrian was led by Jaxon Francis with 24 points while Calvin Polley added 14 points, nine assists, and four rebounds. Lamont McKinney added 14 points and seven rebounds while Ben Perez added 12 points.

Madison 46, Jonesville 39

The Madison Trojans used a big fourth quarter to finally put away the Jonesville Comets on Friday night, winning by the score of 46-39.

The teams played to a near stalemate throughout the first three quarters, although Madison did hold a solid 11-6 advantage after one quarter of play. The teams did in fact play to a 9-9 stalemate in the second quarter, with the score holding strong at 20-15 in favor of Madison at halftime.

The third quarter saw Jonesville at its peak, quickly hauling in Madison to close the game to just a single score, sending the game to the fourth quarter with Madison leading by just as single point 30-29.

Madison buckled down and thanks to an ice cold effort from the free throw line it was the Trojans taking the win, 46-39.

Top performers

Eli Hiatt, Madison – Hiatt had a big night for Madison, leading the team in scoring with 22 points. Hiatt also added three assists and three steals.

Derrell Tillman, Madison – Tillman was a huge part of the Madison effort, recording a solid all-around game with 10 points, four rebounds and three steals

Brian Dopp, Madison – Dopp filled the scorebook from stem to stern, adding four points, five rebounds, four steals, three assists, and two charges taken.

Madison improves to 13-8 overall and will finish out their 2026-27 campaign with at trip to Tecumseh on Monday.
