It was a big night on Tuesday for former USC Trojan Isaiah Collier. He has been getting more minutes and more opportunities to show if he can be a foundational piece for Utah’s future. Collier is definitely making his case, and he put a stamp on that case in the Utah Jazz’s win versus the Indiana Pacers.
In 48 minutes, Collier dropped 17 points, had a very impressive 22 assists, and 3 steals. Collier reached his career high total on assists against Indiana, but his elite passing display is not an out-of-the-blue development. Collier is averaging 6.7 assists per game this season, and so far, he has had 5 games with double-digit assists and 19 games with at least 8 assists.
22 assists is a very impressive stat for a second-year guard and especially one that is not normally in the starting rotation. Whenever Keyonte George has been out of the lineup, Collier has given the Jazz the upmost confiudenc ehe can deliver an impactful performance that will help led his team to victory.
Isaiah Collier at USC was a standout guard most known for his great scoring ability. Collier averaged 16.3 points per game and 4.3 assists per game. Collier has now taken his game to new heights and has adjusted to fit the mold of how he can be most impactful with the Jazz as an elite facilitator.
The Jazz are trying to compete with their young core after their trade for Jaren Jackson Jr. The Jazz are not too far from being a tough team in the West, as they still have a chance to return next off-season’s top draft pick with a very attractive draft class incoming. Now Collier has given them another reason to feel good about their current nucleus. Collier continues to shine, and the Jazz’s offense is at its best when he is on the court.
The Jazz’s future is looking very bright, and some of that is due to what Isaiah Collier has been providing. He has been representing his alma mater very successfully in the NBA.
