Motorcycle rider dead after crash involving another vehicle on U.S. 1

A man died Feb. 3 following a crash involving a motorcycle and another vehicle on U.S. 1, a Fort Pierce Police spokesperson said.

Police were called about 3:15 p.m. Feb. 3 to the crash in the southbound lanes of U.S. 1 at Avenue M, said Juliana Walker, police spokesperson.

She said the motorcycle rider, a man, died, while the driver of the vehicle, a woman, was taken to a hospital, but the extent of her injuries was not immediately clear.

Walker said U.S. 1 from Avenue M to Avenue H is closed as of just before 5 p.m.

No other information was immediately available.
