Rumors about Anthony Muñoz's health are untrue, his foundation says

Cincinnati Bengals Hall of Fame offensive tackle Anthony Muñoz is “alive and well,” his foundation announced in a Jan. 29 social media post, addressing several claims the 67-year-old is dealing with health issues.

“We’d like to take a moment to address some news — fake news, that is. False claims suggesting that Anthony’s health is in jeopardy have been circulating. These claims are 100% fabricated and completely false,” the Anthony Muñoz Foundation wrote on X.

“If you see posts regarding Anthony’s health from an account other than (the Anthony Muñoz Foundation), please immediately flag and report them,” the post continued.

The foundation shared a slideshow of the fake posts that claimed he was “battling health challenges.” The posts in the video appeared to have been shared on social media since Jan. 22.

“Fake sites/groups have been posting for a while about Anthony, but they never really had much traction,” Caleigh Willis, executive director of the Anthony Muñoz Foundation, told The Enquirer. “Only recently have multiple sites been posting enough that we have partners volunteers and other supporters of both Anthony and the Foundation reaching out asking for updates or if this news was true.”

“We just wanted to have our own little space on the internet to acknowledge that he is healthy and fine,” she added.

The story was updated to add a comment from the foundation.
