A massive winter storm could affect over half the United States’ population this weekend, including those in Ohio.
The storm, which The Weather Channel named Winter Storm Fern, could bring damaging ice and heavy snow to a stretch of the country that includes parts of the South, Midwest and Northeast.
The National Weather Service predicts the storm will start Friday in the Southern Rockies and Plains before shifting across the East Coast this weekend.

Winter Storm Fern may first hit southern Ohio on Saturday, according to forecast maps from The Weather Channel. The storm will continue moving northeast across Ohio into Saturday night. The Weather Channel forecasts heavy snow levels across virtually the entire state of Ohio on Sunday.
