Lakers jersey history No. 20 — Dylan Windler

Through the 2024-25 season, the Los Angeles Lakers have had a total of 506 players suit up for them, going back to their days in Minneapolis. Some were forgettable, some were serviceable, some were good and a select few were flat-out legendary.

During the Lakers’ 80th season of existence (they were founded back in 1946 as the Detroit Gems in the National Basketball League), LeBron Wire is taking a look at each player who has worn their jersey, whether it has been a purple and gold one or the ones they donned back in the Midwest during their early years.

After four years at Belmont University, Dylan Windler was taken by the Cleveland Cavaliers with the No. 26 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. Early in the 2023-24 season, he was waived by the New York Knicks, and the Lakers then signed him to a two-way contract in January of that campaign.

The 6-foot-7 forward appeared in eight games with the Lakers and totaled 12 points, 3 rebounds and six assists in 28 minutes. They waived him after nearly two months, and he wrapped up that season with the Atlanta Hawks.

Windler left the NBA after that season and has been with the Perth Wildcats of the National Basketball League in Australia ever since.
